Cucumber Raita is a great way to dress up any meal. It’s a light refreshing Pakistani yogurt condiment that pairs wonderfully with any dish. It’s delicious on Biryani, Pulao, or just plain rice. It’s quick and easy to make you can whip it up whenever you need. Lets get started with the recipe, shall we?
Ingredients:
- 2 small cucumbers or 1 English cucumber
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 teaspoon water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- pinch of Pakistani red chili powder
Directions:
This is a pretty straightforward recipe so I will do my best to not make it complicated. Start by shredding your cucumbers on a grater straight into the bowl you will be making the raita in, this just helps prevent extra cleanup. Next mix in the yogurt, water (to thin it out), and all the spices. Guess what? I think you guessed it. You’re done! It really is just that simple.
This Cucumber Raita is so simple to make and it honestly goes well with some many things! You could put it on top of any Biryani like this fun shrimp or keema Biryani or it could be a great side condiment for a salaam dish!
