Rooh Afza is honestly just iconic. In Ramadan you would be hard pressed to not find this in every Pakistani household. Rooh Afza is a rose flavored syrup that can be used in a variety of different way from drinks to desserts. Today I want to share with you 3 different delicious drinks you can make with Rooh Afza syrup. Lets get started with the recipe, shall we?

Ingredients:

Choice 1:

  • 2 tablespoons Rooh Afza Syrup
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • ice cubes, optional

Choice 2:

  • 2 tablespoons Rooh Afza syrup
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • almond sliver, to garnish
  • pistachio crushed, to garnish

Choice 3:

  • 2 tablespoons Rooh Afza Syrup
  • 12 fl.oz can of sparkling water
  • ice cubes, optional

Directions:

This recipe could not be more simple! Unless of course you wanted a recipe for a cup of water…then yes, that would be the most simple recipe. But with two simple ingredients you can have a nice refreshing glass of rose sherbet to help you cool down through the long summer days. You’ll have a choice of 3 based and you can do what you like best. Choice #1 is the more traditional method where you just mix the Rooh Afza with water and give it a good mix to combine completely. Top it off with some ice and get ready to sip the day away.

Choice #2 is also another traditional method with milk. It’s more creamy so it feels a little more substantial, like a full dessert. I would dare to say it’s almost a milkshake 🤔 (almost). Just like before simple mix the milk with Rooh Afza and top it off with crushed or slivered almond and crushed pistachios. I don’t like to add milk because it feels like it gets in the way. Just use some cold milk and it will be plenty refreshing.

Lastly, I thought I would try something fun with seltzer. I’m a pretty huge seltzer fan, it’s almost a problem. But I thought mixing seltzer with Rooh Afza would make a nice Rose Soda. I also opted to used lime seltzer and I think it complimented the rose flavor nicely but you can also use plain, unflavored seltzer. I would suggest putting syrup in first then pouring seltzer on top then topping with ice. But if you go the other way it’s not the end of the world ☺️
