Cuisine American
- 1 (8 oz.) package of cream cheese, room temperature
- ½ cup heavy cream, chilled
- ⅔ cup powdered sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
In a mixing bowl, whip up room temperature cream cheese until light and softened using a spatula or electric hand mixer.
In a separate mixing bowl, whip up chilled heavy cream until soft peaks form using electric hand mixer. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
In 2-3 parts fold whipped cream into softened cream cheese until well combined.
Using electric hand mixer, whip together whipped cream and cream cheese mixture for a few minutes until stiff peaks form.
Add in powdered sugar ⅓ cup at a time. First, fold sugar into frosting to prevent cloud of powdered sugar then, whip with hand mixer until glossy. Finish adding and mixing sugar into frosting and then mix in vanilla extract.
Once finished store in refrigerator until ready to use. Use it to frost cakes or cupcakes—like carrot cake or red velvet cupcakes.
Enjoy!
