Korean Fried Cauliflower

Hi ho! Today’s recipe is a fun one. We all know vegetables aren’t the most exciting thing, but lets be real it’s just because we all don’t know how to make them exciting! This Korean fried cauliflower recipe is sweet and spicy with a hint of crispiness. It’s the perfect thing to satisfy that fried food craving without making you feel bad, hahaha 😂 Let’s get started with the recipe, shall we?

Ingredients:

For Batter:

For sauce:

Directions:

First things first, lets make the batter. Mix up all the dry ingredients first and then add in the egg and water. When you mix it all together the batter may seem a tad thin but that’s normal. I found it kind of reminds me of a tempura batter, just barely coating the cauliflower.

In batches coat the cauliflower in the batter then its time to fry it up. To fry put vegetable oil in a frying pan, just enough to submerge half the floret. Heat up on medium-high heat and then start frying the cauliflower.

They take just a few minutes per side to crisp up and then you can take them out and let them drain on a paper towel lined plate. Once everything is fried up you can sprinkle a little salt on top for taste. Honestly, they taste great just like this but the sauce makes it even better. So, lets stir it up. In a saucepan add in all the sauce ingredients and mix on medium heat, then you can add the fried cauliflower. Just stir lightly to completely coat the fried cauliflower.

Plate it up and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. In hindsight, I realized I should have added the sesame seeds while the cauliflower was in the pan…You live and you learn, I suppose. I know, so inspirational. I just come up with this stuff. Anyways, I suggest eating this as soon as its done because the crispiness is at its best.
