Cinnamon Rolls

I know, I know, this is not a Pakistani recipe, but who says I can’t make delicious cinnamon rolls with Mindy and TK (yay for friends!) and then tell you how to make them?! I’m just trying to make the world a better place, okay. Anywho, so this is going to go a little differently than my other recipes because there are no picture, don’t panic, we have a video! Isn’t that great? It’s great, I know. So yes here it is:

I know what you’re thinking, “That camera work is impeccable!” Well, it was me, so what do you expect. If you are some sort of director watching this feel free to contact me for any of your camera jobs, I’ll do my best to squeeze you into my super busy schedule. Of course, if the movie has Orlando Bloom in it or something, well consider me there, free of charge. Oh and of course, I have to mention that all the mixing, rolling, and baking was my friends, so yeah they rock! Well, now that I’ve gotten that over with, let’s get to the less important (but still awesome) part of this post, the recipe for these wondrous cinnamon rolls. (Note: This recipe is not mine, I got it from TK’s dad. So, shout out to him for baking awesomeness!)

Ingredients:

For Icing:

Directions;

  1. Preheat oven to 450 F degrees. Then add all the dry ingredients into an empty bowl and add in the shortening. Cut in the shortening until the mixture has the consistency of course crumbs. When this is done add the milk! Woohoo milk! OK, so now that that’s done, mix well until it’s a ball of dough.
  2. So, now that the dough is done, roll it out into rectangle (the video shows the size). And then lather the whole thing with some butter. Oh yeah, this is getting good. Then sprinkle with desired amount of cinnamon (just not too much). Lastly, the brown sugar. Layer that on and just spread it everywhere, but leave a little border.
  3. Now time for the “roll” part of “cinnamon roll”. As a wise person once said “Roll up that sugary goodness” and I couldn’t have said it better myself.
  4. Cut the roll into pieces, whatever height you want the cinnamon rolls to be. Place them on a baking tray and bake for about 15 minutes. Take them out when done and let cool.
  5. Almost done. Time for the icing! For the icing, add confectioner sugar, vanilla, and salt to the milk. Stir it and if it’s too thick add a little more milk and if it’s too thin you can add some more confectioner sugar. It really depends on what you prefer.
  6. Lastly, just drizzle it on the cinnamon roll and eat up that deliciousness. I promise you won’t be disappointed! Unless you are (because you don’t like cinnamon rolls or some other ridiculous reason), then I apologize in advance.
